George Hochderffer the son of Frank Joseph and Katherine (Kloster) Hochderffer was born December 22, 1863, in Bethlehem, Illinois. With his father and brother he traveled by covered wagon from Illinois to Flagstaff, Arizona, arriving June 7, 1887. He was a rancher, artist, botanist, local historian, military ethusiast, and world traveler. He was a member of the Arizona National Guard, 1891-1910. He died in Flagstaff in 1955.
